Let us rise up and build

Nehemiah 2:18

On one evening in May 2024 our city said yes to a new church. This is the story of that night, of what we are building, and of the one thing that stands between us and the first day of construction.

I The yes

Seven votes. Not one against.

7–0Costa Mesa Planning Commission

Years of drawings, hearings and prayer came down to one screen in the council chambers at 77 Fair Drive. Every name on it turned to Yes.

7:18 PM  The motion to approve carries.

7:30 PM  We are all outside on the steps, and nobody wants to go home.

Someone wrote on the photo that same night. The first two words were “thank God.”

IV The obstacle

One thing has to happen first

The church still carries $1.9 million of debt. The construction loan that will pay for the new building cannot begin until that debt is gone. Everything else waits behind it.

  1. We are here

    Clear the $1.9M

Pay off what the church owes today.

  2. Open the construction loan

It can only start on a clean slate.

  3. Demolition

Carried out by December 1, 2026.

  4. The new church rises

Two domes, a steeple, and room for every child.
